hello!
hahaha i think NDP was a huge success for 2C1 man.
i think we owned the rest of the classes in terms of unity and what we achieved in the end.
somethings that make us unique and hard to destroy:

- we were like the only class where everyone was doing something.
hahah no need say one,
this kind of thing.
- we painted the enitre canvas.
hahah some other classes just painted the come together logo,
so stuck papers on it.
all these could be done single handedly.
LOL.
but you can't single handedly paint a 1.5 x 90 metre canvas in an hour.
so well done lads!
hahah although there were several tempers rising,
we managed to really "come together" and owned the rest.
hahah

hahhaha we really kicked ass man.

Hahahahh heyo people. so yah, here's the stuff for the national day yeah? Sorry for the late post, did this as fast as I could. Reminder that leaders must get together and plan the stuff by wednesday?

Theme: Come Together – Reaching Out, Reaching Up

Background:
The theme for NDP 09, “Come Together – Reaching Out, Reaching Up” draws inspiration from our Pledge. It is about our coming together as ‘one united people’, to Reach Out to all Singaporeans regardless of ‘race, language or religion’, and to Reach Up towards our hopes and aspirations articulated when we pledge to ‘achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.’ When times are tough, we know that Singaporeans will rally together, support each other and believe that things will work out fine.

Thus, we would like to encourage all students to reflect together and share on similar experiences, narratives, and concepts related to what makes them feel Singaporean and express their feelings in the form of a wall collage. Each unique experience comes together to form a beautiful picture of aspiration, hope, dream and identity.
Objective:
1. Remind us of the importance of our identity as a Singaporean
2. Create awareness of the importance of National Day
3. Remind us of the importance of cohesion among the different ethnic groups

Things to bring:
1. Newspapers
2. Masking tape
3. Painting materials/Art Materials (e.g. brushes, water colour, poster colour, fabric glue and glitter, sequins)
4. A laptop
5. A digital camera
6. Hair drying (for the drying of paint)
7. pins / Blue tag (to display National Day Collage on the board/wall)

Instructions & Suggestions:
1. Arrange tables & Chairs to the sides of the classroom.
2. Line the classroom floor with newspapers and hold it down using masking tape. Please complete painting of the collage on the newspaper area.
3. Alternatively, you may choose to group several tables together to work on.
4. Each Class will be given a sheet of canvas (1m by 1.5m)
5. You may decide to cut the canvas into smaller pieces for each student to work on or for several students to work on. Or, you may choose to work on a big piece as a class. The theme for the National Day Collage is “What is my Identity?”
6. Select a small group of students who will complete the write-up about the National Day Collage on Microsoft word.
7. You have about an 1 hour 30mins to complete the National Day collage
8. Display the National Day collage on the floor/table top and take a photo and upload both the digital picture and write-up onto the shared folder: S:\_CTSS\School Administration\School Events\National Day 2009\National Day Collage
9. The Judges will come round at 0945hrs to judge your National Day Collage
10. After judging, please select only 3 students to bring the collage to the parade square to piece The Singapore Picture
11. At 1030hrs, instruct the same 3 students to collect back their National Day collage and pin it up on the board/wall of the classroom.
12. The rest of the students will clean up the class and prepare for dismissal.

decided to copy my post about camp here.
save time.
so this is from a facilitator's point of view.
since no one post here i post lor.

back from ASPIRE camp nova!
lol didn't take any pictures though, so sad.
anyway,
i thought the camp was really worth while.
this is gonna be one long post,
so grab a snickers or something,
LOL.

day 1
woke up at 6.
dad fetched me to school.
then got my student council reversible windbreaker.
haha so nice!
but a bit small when i raise my hand.
ah well,
anyway,
reached school.
then hung around.
then sat in the hall sing anthem all the stuff.
then after that went downstairs to do some cheer practice with the other facilitators.
quite boring.
then after that loaded the logistics onto the bus.
some damn heavy wah lao.
all the coal and the amplifiers.
sey.
then helped mr tan carry the paint stuff also.
lol.
then was the last few to get on the bus.
and were the last to leave.
sat with da qiang in the bus.
ee liang and roy damn noisy at the back la.
LOL.

we finally reached the jetty.
was the last to leave again.
lol.
but the boat ride there was shiok.
the sea kept going into my face lol.

then after that was the concurrent telematch and treasure hunt.
my team was perseverance 1.

cause nowadays chinese names very hard to remeber.
i know there's a jin wen, zhi ying, clarus, rebecca, keeshant(?), yat hon,joshua, april, zhen cong (ah beng :D), guo xian, ariyani, jeremy, assidique, sai paing, jeff (lol)
got a few more, but can't remeber liao.

and then we had to find a marble in a place where you can't find marbles.
lol in the end i found most of it :D
haha.
and then we cheated a little lol.
won't say much about it.
anyway,
after that had telematches.
the field full of 1 metre deep wholes la.
no wonder so many casualties.
lol.
we had the water bomb game, had the basketball game,
all in all, i could tell most people enjoyed themselves.
oh, we also had the lime game.
haha.
had fun laughing at the drakons cause they came in last.(haha natalie, hui san!)
and the basketball game super funny la.
we passed it around using the knees.
look like nevermind.
then that jeremy pee in front of everyone, had to cover him.
LOL that was super funny la.
lucky i never participate, only facilitate.
LOL.
then after that went back and slacked,
did cheers with team,
ate dinner and prepared for night hike.
had a few funny urban legends.
anyway,
the nighthike i must say was superb.
the SLs did a fantastic job in preparing it.
then rebecca kena injured,
so i applied medication on her.
lol.
then sent the rest to sleep in their bunks and we had debrief.
end of day 1 :DD

day 2
woke up at 6 00 to do PT.

fast forward everything, did chicken dance and stretching.
I DON'T WANNA BE A CHICKEN I DON'T WANNA BE A DUCK SO I SHAKE MY BUTT blahblah.
carry on.
then had breakfast another 3 packets,
the teachers must be wondering where did all the food go.
then we had amazing race.
quite fun.
but the travelling wasn't up and down up and down time after time you get quite sick of it after that.
and then we had all sorts of fun activities at the beach, the cafeteria, the chess area, you name it.
then we had to welcome the new sec 3s.
lol.
we came in first, so had plenty of time to slack.
well done team!
then had lunch and then went for urban legend hike.
quite boring la.
then after that prepared for campfire.
P2 so uncooperative la.
lol.
we gave them a lot of free time can.
then i helped ms tan do the aspire painting thing and wraped it up so can bring back.
then had dinner.
then went to the jetty there distribute lightsticks.
then after that camp fire liao :D
quite fun,
but assidique had to make a mess of it.
LOL.
a few broken lightsticks were thrown all over the place, LOL
after campfire went back and shower with ee liang.
LOL.
then zzz immediately after debrief.

day 3
woke up late kena pump for everyone.
first time i see mr lim so angry la.
LOL.
then breakfast everything,
and then had to do all you guys the bedsheets.
CLEMENTI TOWN LAUNDRY SERVICES.
had to count, fold, count again, then drop,
count again, fold.
wah lao.
then after that loaded the logistics on the ferry and we were off!
back at the terminal,
ate chips and drank 100 plus with some sec 3 girls and eugene haha.
then took bus back.
had 100 plus sprayed on me by viviana =.=
after that lunched with adeline, EVE, min htet, kenneth, pei qi, vanessa denyse and a few more la.
then went back and zzz.

The flag flutters in the wind,

The flowers wept,

Pebble
The pebble as tall as a tree
As round as me.
A pebble lies in the storm all night
Crying in the dark, looking for some light.

A pebble that sits in the rain all day
Waiting for a day that someone takes him home to stay
The pebble shores in the moonlight
And smiles in the sunlight.

Candle
The candle drooled as soon as it was lit.
Although it leads the way,
The candle destroys and kills.

Even though it ages with the cake,
It prays to the dead,
And offered prayers to the gods.

It eventually died,
When the wax melted away.

happy chinese new year everybody!9although it's a bit late.)

here to post the trilogies of the cave written by sijing.
THE CAVE BEAR:
In the early moring walk, with a jar on his back, the lumbering cave bear staggers to the hive to collect honey. He regrets drinking honey-ed beer yesterday. Now he is stumbling everywhere and has a headache. He fears he is unable to collect the day's honey. He still tries. He collects a thimbleful and is satisfied. He then limps and trips on something. Now at the mercy of a bear trap, the rope catches him on his ankle and hangs upside down from an oak tree. This being a magical forest, the tree speaks " I pity thou for falling for such a pitiful trap, thou art be shameful for thouself," in its big booming voice.
HAHAHA.
THE CAVE GOBLIN:
Early morning, the goblin wakes up and sets traps for food. He makes some meat pie to bring with him on his hunt. He fetches his spear and axe then sets off for his trip. He sniffs some wild berries along the way and works the okace with a piece of rock. The hunt if the day was fair. Two braces of hares and a bear. The bear was heavy so, he left it in its trap whilst it is still incacipated by excessive bleeding, he swiftly take flight back to his home. Reaching his home, he dumps the catch and berries and its off to collect the bear. He cuts the rope and takes the bear home. suddenly, the bear speaks " lemme go!" He jumps in suprise and drops the bear. After talking to the bear for awhile, the two became friends and the goblin brings the bear home to nurse it. But, and observer's eyes twinkle with newfound infomation. TBC!
